When we thought about designing our Video return kit, we decided to incorporate some green ideas.
What better way than to try and recycle old, but good condition battery cases and use these to integrate our Video return link.
This also enables the Transmitter to blend into the camera.
The Transmitter unit consists of our circuit boards mounted inside a V-Lock battery.
This allows the user to mount the unit in between the camera and the cameras main V-Lock battery.
Video-in and audio-in, are mounted on top of the case to allow easy access.
The power is supplied via the cameras V-Lock battery.
Video-in is via a 75ohm BNC connector using a composite video signal.
Audio into the Tx is via a Stereo mini Jack 3.5mm socket.
This Video kit is optimised for video quality but the unit also has audio for those needing it.
Audio is standard quality but useable. For those needing better quality audio for return from the camera we recommend our Return Audio Kit.
We suggest using a SMJ to SMJ cable to feed audio into the Transmitter from the headphone socket of the camera so level can be controlled and therefore audio can be distorion free at the Rx output.

The Transmitter comes as a standard configuration with a V-Lock battery case and V-Lock adaptor but the Receiver comes in various versions.

Versions available:

Kit 1 - Rx comes in a rectangular shaped box that can be mounted to suit the user (see home page for photo).
For the sound recordist, it can be mounted in an over the shoulder bag setup or also on a trolly for the Location Sound recordist and crew.
We have recently reduced the size of this reciever box compared to the Receiver shown in our video by approx 15-20%.
Case is now approx. 12x9x3cm, black in colour.

Kit 2 -Rx comes in a V-Lock battery with a V-Lock adaptor on the top side (see home page for photo).
This version allows the Receiver to be mounted on the back of a Marshall monitor or to any other device that has a V-Lock plate and can also have a V-Lock battery mounted to supply power.

Kit 3 - Rx essentially same as the Kit 2 Rx but it has no V-Lock adaptor on top side but instead has a DC 2.1mm BP connector to facilitate power to the unit.
The idea here is purely to recycle old cases instead of going into land fill.

Kit 1,2 and 3 can have an optional plate fitted on the side of the Transmitter to allow a Camera Link Audio receiver such as a Lectrosonics SR to be fitted.

Video
Video-in is via a 75ohm BNC to BNC cable.

Powering
Transmitter - Powering the Transmitter externally is not neccessary as the unit is powered from the V-Lock battery on the rear of the unit.

Receiver - Receivers are fitted with a 2.1mm DC connector to facilitate power.
Kit 2 can also be powered via a V-Lock battery mounted as would be the most common way of powering the unit.

Power cables to power the Rx can be purchased from our acessories page.
The main connector on this cable is a standard 2.1mm center (I.D.) and 5.5mm barrel (O.D.) DC. Positive center. Same as used with Lectrosonics Transmitters and Receivers.

NEW - We can now supply D-Tap male to Right angle DC cables to power the Rx.
